Outreach Advisory

Initially, like many in the West, Paul had limited understanding of Islam. However, after visiting Regents Park Mosque to learn more, his perspective shifted, and he developed a deep appreciation for the spiritual tradition. Today, Paul runs the successful YouTube channel Blogging Theology, where he engages world-class academics on topics in theology, philosophy, history, and contemporary issues. He believes in the power of outreach and dialogue as key elements of meaningful engagement.

With a distinguished career spanning 15 years in policing, with the last five focused in the intense world of Counter Terrorism, Omar combines profound leadership, strategic acumen, and creative prowess. He served as a pivotal figure in the Association of Muslim Police, where, as the chair, he spearheaded both local and national initiatives. Omar’s expertise further extends to fostering understanding within diverse communities. Furthermore, as the founder of a charitable organisation, Omar showcases an exceptional aptitude for planning and managing projects with remarkable precision for the benefit of those in need.

Junaid, founder of Wahed, spent several years in Wall Street banking before establishing Wahed to address the challenges of financial mobility and exclusion. He holds a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University, where he also served as Managing Editor of the prestigious Columbia Financial Review. Junaid has earned numerous designations in finance, including Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance (CDIF).

Mufti Abdul Kadir Barkatulla

Sharia Compliance Advice and Audit

Mufti Abdul Kadir Barkatulla is a leading UK scholar of Sharia, with expertise in Islamic economics and finance. He serves as a Sharia Judge at the Islamic Sharia Council and has over 10 years of experience advising financial institutions. He is a member of the Sharia Supervisory Committees of Lloyds TSB, Alburaq of Arab Banking Corporation London, and United National Bank. Trained in both Arabic and English, he teaches at Ebrahim College.

Today, he combines this extensive experience in investments and technology to drive strategic capital deployment across the entire venture lifecycle, with a focus on initiatives that support the Halal Economy and real-world impact. Alex is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Concord College, UK.

Dr Ikhlaq Hussain

Philanthropy Advisor

Dr Ikhlaq Hussian is a philanthropy and marketing specialist. Recognised as one of the 25 most outstanding fundraisers by Fundraising Magazine and was awarded a fellowship by the Chartered Institute of Fundraising for his contributions to the sector. He currently serves as a consultant, advisor, and academic, supporting numerous charitable organisations and teaching at Bayes Business School, City, University of London. Previously, Dr Ikhlaq held senior fundraising roles at several charities, served as a trustee at Mind in Harrow, and was a Mosaic Enterprise Mentor with The King’s Trust. He regularly writes and speaks for sector-specific media outlets.

Ainurul Rosli, an Impact Entrepreneur Correspondent, is driven by a passion for redefining how we account for value and growth in business. She believes that businesses have the power to reshape the way we define success—moving beyond profit at all costs to sustainable, inclusive, and impactful growth. Ainurul is an Honorary Professor at Brunel University of London and serves as a Trustee of Social Value International. She is also the Co-founder of Social Value Malaysia and Chair of the Impact and Practice Group at the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE), UK. Additionally, as an accredited UNDP SDG Impact Standards Trainer, she equips organizations with the tools to lead and manage their impact performance.
